The Italian Greens were wrong to vote on ReArm Europe.

“We went back to double-check the vote, and all three of us made a mistake in voting.” This is how European Parliament member Cristina Guarda from Europa Verde explained a contradictory vote she and her group colleagues cast in the European Parliament regarding the rearmament plan proposed by the European Commission. On March 12, the Parliament approved a resolution on the future of European defense, which, among other things, expressed its “welcome” to the ReArm Europe plan. The four Italian parliamentarians in the “Greens/European Free Alliance” group voted against the resolution, while the majority of the group voted in favor. These parliamentarians are Cristina Guarda and Benedetta Scuderi, both members of the Europa Verde party, and Ignazio Marino and Leoluca Orlando, both elected with Alleanza Verdi-Sinistra (a coalition of Europa Verde and Sinistra Italiana), but not members of Europa Verde.
