{"id":187174,"date":"2024-07-23T15:53:47","date_gmt":"2024-07-23T13:53:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.idmo.it\/?p=187174"},"modified":"2024-07-23T15:53:49","modified_gmt":"2024-07-23T13:53:49","slug":"edmo-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.idmo.it\/en\/2024\/07\/23\/edmo-2\/","title":{"rendered":"United against disinformation: our work in numbers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As one of 14 national and multinational Hubs within the framework of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edmo.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Digital Media Observatory<\/a>(EDMO),\u00a0IDMO\u00a0is part of a unique professional community that is active in all EU member states and Norway.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When EDMO was launched in June 2020, its mission was clear: the creation of an interdisciplinary cross-border network that would elevate Europe\u2019s understanding of \u2013 and collective efforts against \u2013 online disinformation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What followed over the next four years was a remarkable journey, bringing together thousands of relevant actors in a quickly growing environment that has connected and empowered communities across Europe.\u00a0Covering\u00a0Italy,\u00a0IDMO\u00a0became a part of this mission when it started its activities in\u00a02021.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disinformation works fast and large-scale \u2013 but so does our network. Both at central level at EDMOeu, as well as in the 14 EDMO Hubs, the scope, reach, and adaptability of activities and outputs in the fields of fact-checking, digital media literacy, research, and policy analysis underline the significant role this community has taken in the larger effort to advance our societies\u2019 responses to disinformation, including in times of unforeseen crises.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection of figures below provides an overview of what our network has so far accomplished in its core areas of activity.
